Bangkok, 16 November 2024 – Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, presided over the opening of the Loi Krathong Festival 2024 last night at Phadung Krung Kasem Canal near Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Railway Station. The festival featured spectacular light installations along the canal and a vibrant waterborne procession led by actress Yaya – Urassaya Sperbund, showcasing traditional floating customs from Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Tak, Samut Songkhram, and Roi Et. Using advanced technology, this year’s festival highlights eco-friendly krathong floating, celebrating Thai culture with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
