Thailand Vegetarian Festival 2024

Visitors to Thailand this month, especially between 2-11 October, are invited to experience one of the kingdom’s most unique and vibrant annual events, the Vegetarian Festival.

On the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, Thai people of Chinese origin will observe a nine or 10-day vegetarian diet for the purposes of spiritual cleansing, merit-making, conferring good luck, and ensuring prosperity and long life.

Visitors are invited to witness grand processions of Chinese deities and spectacular displays of spiritual beliefs in major cities with large Thai Chinese communities nationwide, as well as savouring vegetarian delicacies,

• Chon Buri, 1-12 October, at Na Jasa Tai Chue Shrine in Ang Sila Sub-district

• Bangkok
  • 2-11 October, at the Chaloem Phra Kiat Gate Pavilion on Yaowarat Road as well as the surrounding streets
  • 3-11 October (Amazing J Fest 2: Light The Town Up), Chula Soi 5 (SuanLuang Square- Banthat Thong)

• Chumphon
  • 2-11 October, at the Chumphon Charitable Welfare Foundation
  • 2-11 October, at Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Shrine

• Songkhla, 2-11 October, at various shrines, foundations, and associations in Hat Yai District

• Narathiwat, 2-11 October, at the Seng Mu Than Nam Chai Foundation, Su-ngai Kolok District

• Phuket, 3-11 October, at various shrines around the province

• Nakhon Sawan, 3-11 October, at the Napha Shrine

• Phang-nga, 3-11 October, at seven shrines around the province

• Ranong, 3-11 October, at the Multi-purpose Field, Mueang Ranong Municipality

• Trang, 3-11 October, at Mueang Trang Municipality, Wisetkul Road.
